FAQ - SHOPPING ONLINE
What if my tyre size is not available online?
At Bud's Tyres Online, we do things a little differently. We’re not your standard online shopping experience. Stock availability and pricing from our suppliers can change daily, but we do our best to ensure a seamless shopping experience. Please note that when you place an order, we will hold your payment method until stock levels are confirmed.
If you can’t find the wheel or tyre size you’re looking for on our product pages, don’t hesitate to reach out. We can usually source items that aren’t listed in our online store and will do our best to find exactly what you need.
What happens if I order the wrong size?
Please call or text 0402 666 707 ASAP. Kindly ensure that you provide the correct tyre or wheel size. Please note that an admin fee will apply if the item(s) have already been dispatched from our supplier. If the item(s) have arrived at and been dispatched from our Burleigh Heads warehouse, an additional fee may apply. Shipping and return shipping costs will not be covered by Bud's Tyres.
Will I be notified when my order is in transit?
Our courier will keep you informed of any significant updates on your item(s) journey, including delivery options such as 'Authority to Leave'. Please note that a single order may have more than one tracking number.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery times are subject to change particularly with remote area delivery. Delivery times are calculated once your item has been dispatched. Dispatch from our warehouse is subject to stock availability. Standard shipping is expected to take 2 - 8 business days.
Why are shipping prices varied?
Unfortunately due to the size and weight of the product we are unable to offer flat rate shipping. Shipping prices are varied based on quantity ordered, weight of the product and postcode. All merchandise is dispatched via Australia Post with a flat rate with your choice of standard or express shipping.
Where is my order?
Please allow 2-3 business days (excluding Saturdays and public holidays) for your payment to be authorised. If you have not heard from us beyond this time, it may mean that your selected item is out of stock, and your order has been cancelled. Be sure to check your junk mail for an order cancellation email or review your bank statement for payment confirmation.
If you selected in-store collection or fitment, please allow 2-3 business days to be notified of a collection window or available appointment times. If your item is on pre-order we will notify you and give you the option to cancel.
If you are concerned that your order is taking longer than expected, please contact us at hello@budstyres.com.au or call 0402 666 707.
How do I order with Bud's Tyres?
We offer four product categories to shop: tyres, wheels, in-store services, and product merchandise.
Please note that products are typically set up as individual items or services. For example, if you’re purchasing four wheels, be sure to select the quantity as 4.
At checkout, we offer various shipping options, including weight-based shipping Australia-wide, in-store collection, in-store fitment (which may include services), and flat rate shipping for all merchandise.
In-store services can be purchased separately, but if you’re simply booking a service like a puncture repair, it’s often quicker to contact us directly to book and pay in-store. You can add in-store purchases to any wheel or tyre purchase online when selecting in-store fitment.
For merchandise purchases, simply add items to your cart, enter your shipping details and contact information, and choose between flat rate express or standard shipping upon payment.
Please note that purchasing wheels and tyres online does not guarantee stock availability. After selecting your size, quantity, and entering your contact and shipping information, you’ll be asked to enter payment details. Your payment will be pre-authorised, pending stock availability. We will confirm stock before capturing the payment. If your payment is declined, feel free to reach out to us for pre-order options.
If you have any questions or need assistance before making a purchase, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What payment options are available?
Currently we offer shopPay, PayPal, GPay, Bank Transfer, Zip Pay, Cash on Arrival, or Credit Card. Contact us directly for finance options.
Why can't you adjust your stock levels and pricing online every day?
Please note that wheel and tyre pricing is subject to change. As a third-party supplier, stock levels and prices can fluctuate frequently. To ensure you receive the best price and fastest delivery, we contact multiple wholesale suppliers behind the scenes to secure the best deal for you. Found a better price online elsewhere, let us know and we may be able to price match.
Can I collect my purchase?
If you are a Gold Coast local and do not wish to book in to fit your wheels and tyres at our Burleigh Heads Fitment Centre, you can select collection upon checkout.
Do you stock your entire range of wheels & tyres online?
At Bud's Tyres Online we offer a curated selection of 4WD wheels & tyres. Our full range of wheels & tyres is available to shop in-store.

How do I find my tyre size and what do tyre sidewall markings mean?
Sidewall markings provide essential information about your tyre’s size and specifications. The first sequence of numbers indicates the width of the tyre, followed by the height. If there’s a letter at the beginning, it typically represents the type of vehicle, such as P for passenger vehicles. This information is usually separated by a slash ( / ).
The R and the number that follows represent the aspect ratio of the tyre. While not all the information may be relevant to you, the remaining characters typically detail the load rating and speed rating of the tyre. Understanding these markings helps ensure you select the right tyres for your vehicle. Any questions? Contact us to get the right wheels and tyres for your vehicle.
What tyres should I get for my car?
Choosing the right tyre depends on your tyre size, budget, driving style, and personal preference. While tyres may appear similar, they are designed for various purposes, with price often reflecting unique features or advanced technology. Thankfully, there are countless options available, ranging from budget-friendly to premium choices, so you can find the perfect fit.
Whether you have a specific tyre in mind or prefer to stick with what you know, we always recommend having a conversation with us first. This allows us to help you select the best tyre—whether it’s a more affordable option that offers the same performance or a more specialized tyre tailored to your needs. We’re here to guide you in making the right choice!
Which tyres last longest?
Generally, mid-range or premium tyres tend to offer better longevity, which means you get more value for your money. While they may have a higher upfront cost, they often provide greater durability, translating to more time and distance for the price. However, the best choice for you ultimately depends on your driving style and how you use your vehicle.
When do tyres need to be replaced?
Tyres conventionally should be replaced when the tread block is level with the wear bar. However, we, along with every other tyre retailer in Australia, strongly recommend replacing your tyres a little earlier for added safety. You don’t want to risk delays in booking your service.
As a general rule, tyres should be thoroughly inspected at least once a year and checked every few months. On average, tyres last around 4 to 5 years, though this can vary depending on several factors, including driving conditions and maintenance. Regular inspections help ensure your tyres are in optimal condition for your safety.
How do I extend the life of my tyres?
The first step is investing in a high-quality tyre, which often ends up costing you the same as a budget tyre that wears out quickly. It’s worth doing your research and consulting with us to find the best tyre for your needs. In just a couple of years, you'll be glad you made a smart, calculated choice when you can extend the life of your tyres and avoid frequent visits to the shop.
Wheel alignment, balancing, and rotation are crucial services and should not be considered optional. Your driving style plays a major role in preventing premature wear. Factors like overloading, under-inflating, over-inflating, driving at high speeds, sudden stops, exposure to heat, and using tyres that aren’t suited to your vehicle or driving conditions can all contribute to early tyre wear. Proper care can help your tyres last longer and perform better.
Why does tread depth matter and what is the legal requirement?
Tread depth is crucial for keeping your vehicle safely on the road. It provides traction, allowing your tyres to grip the driving surface and maintain control. Worn tread is a serious safety concern, as it significantly reduces your ability to drive safely. In Australia, the legal minimum tread depth is 1.5mm, but it’s important to replace your tyres before reaching this point to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Do I really need a wheel alignment, balance or rotation?
Wheel alignment, balancing, and rotation are essential services that should be performed when purchasing new tyres or throughout their lifespan. These services are key to saving you money in the long run.
If your car pulls to one side, it’s usually a sign that you need a wheel alignment, which impacts both fuel economy and tyre wear. It's a good idea to have a wheel alignment done when you purchase new tyres.
If you notice shaking or vibrations while driving, it may indicate that your wheels need balancing. Over time, wheels lose balance due to factors like driving conditions, tread wear, and weight distribution.
A tyre rotation involves swapping the positions of your tyres to promote even wear and extend their lifespan.
What do all these services have in common? They save you money and are affordable to perform, making them an important investment for the longevity of your tyres and vehicle.
